Volunteers help us fulfill our mission by giving of their time, talent and attention where it is most needed. D.U.S.T.Y Volunteer Program provides a unique opportunity for individuals, community groups and corporations to contribute to the youth development and education.

Where do D.U.S.T.Y volunteers come from?

All over town (and sometimes beyond!):

Individuals: Persons looking for volunteer opportunities to become involved in their community

Groups and Corporations: A growing number of companies are looking for community service opportunities for their employees. D.U.S.T.Y offers groups a chance to work together, or individual placements to meet corporate community service goals.

Interns: Special placements can be arranged for university or high school credits.

Rewards:

Take part in helping a Child/Youth today and give them a positive influence

To become a volunteer:

· Contact the Administrative at the office to RSVP for a volunteer orientation. (510-839-6812)

· Attend an orientation. At that time, you will learn about D.U.S.T.Y. and determine which program area and position best fits your interests and talents.

· After the orientation and receipt of your application, you will be given an opportunity to observe the program and position you are interested in, and receive any training necessary for you to be successful as a member of the program team. 

Volunteers assist D.U.S.T.Y with:

· Outreach

translate materials

· public relations

· fundraising

· administration

· and other areas

daily drop-in help for all ages

· The Elementary & Middle school and High School Sites

for our youngest creators daily drop-in help

D.U.S.T.Y is a favorite destination for schools throughout the community

Special projects:

You can make a long or short term commitment, depending on the nature of the project. D.U.S.T.Y. is looking for help with:

· Graphic design

including our website (you think this is easy?)

· Public relations

write press releases, contact media, email communication

· Fundraising

assist with membership drives, special fundraisers and grant writing

· Administration and technical support

share your specialized skills as part of the backbone of our organization

D.U.S.T.Y volunteers are rewarded by the experience of working in a fun, creative and lively environment. Volunteers receive training and professional development. In addition Volunteers also receive letters of recommendation on request. Many volunteers have used their D.U.S.T.Y experience to launch successful careers in the Media & Technology. D.U.S.T.Y is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
